Project: Masonry Works at Gills Garden

Location: Nenagh, Co Tipperary

Brief Overview:

Gills Garden walls are abounded by Nenagh Castle to the West, St. Mary’s Church to the East, St. Mary’s Church to the North with the access to Gills Garden from the South through Church Lane. All structures are on the record of Protected Structures with Nenagh Castle listed as a protected monument and architectural conservation area.

Key Elements:

• Conservation of a listed historic protected structure under the supervision of ACP group

• Traffic & Pedestrian Management

• Site clearance & tree felling works

• Removal of vegetation & metal protrusions from the internal boundary Walls

• Extensive raking out of masonry joints and repointing with lime mortar

• Consolidation works to collapsed masonry sections including capping

• Forming drop gothic limestone arch’s both on the external and internal wall faces to accommodate a window and two new gate entrance’s

• New Galvanised mild steel black window & gate installation
