Conservation works to Abbey Street Car Park City Wall

Key Elements

• Removal of vegetation & trees in the walls, at the base and behind the walls
• Erection of scaffolding
• Analysis of mortar sample prior to commencement
• Clean, rake out and repoint outer face including pinning stones & return wall
• Clean, rake out and repoint inner face including return wall
• Remove concrete from the wall top & flaunch with lime based mortar
• Replace concrete infills with masonry bedded in a lime based mortar
• Consolidation at Southern end
• New Railings
• Foundation bases for signage
