Project: Mullinahone River Channel Repair Contract

Brief Overview:

Mullinahone project was a flood defense project. Construction of new concrete river bed and walls to prevent flooding on adjacent dwellings.

Key Elements:

• Installation of a insitu reinforced concrete in river
  channel.
• Collapsed sections of river walls were removed and the bed profile adjusted to suit the proposed channel
• Collapsed sections of railing were recovered
• Drainage culverts and pipes were taken through the new river walls
• Voids behind collapsed sections of walls were filled with mass concrete
• Vegetation clearance

• Clearance of existing debris from river channel
• Shaping of existing river banks
• Excavation of riverbed & banks
• Deposition of granular fill in new river channel
